FAMOC Ready for Samsung KNOX Release
May 13, 2013 - Cork, Ireland - FancyFon™, a silver partner in the Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program, today announces its support for Samsung’s groundbreaking new KNOX technology. Increasingly, employees are using their personal mobile devices for work, such as accessing corporate email or Wi-Fi. Corporations want to support the requests of their employees, while being mindful of the risks of enabling personal devices to house enterprise data.
Samsung KNOX is a new Android-based solution designed with security in mind to address the perception of the current open source Android platform. KNOX offers a container solution that separates business and personal use of a mobile device. KNOX containerization is implemented at an operating system (OS) level, allowing the container and its contents to be guarded and protected at a much more deeper and granular level. KNOX also offers other security features such as the ability to configure a VPN for the entire container and a single sign-on (SSO) authentication system. Samsung smartphones and tablets with Samsung Knox are the first Android-powered devices to be approved for use by the US Government and Military Services.
FancyFon joined forces with Samsung, a world-leading smartphone and tablet vendor, to deliver a solution that allows organizations to enjoy the benefits of mobility while making sure that their corporate data is safe and secure. Fancyfon’s FAMOC allows IT administrators to manage their data within KNOX containers from the single point of control thus helping to reduce IT workload and radically decreasing support costs. The powerful set of FAMOC management features of Samsung KNOX devices include anti-virus configuration, category based web filtering, security policiesbased on group membership or ownership of the device, document management, application policy (whitelist or blacklist) and much more.
