Sanofi improves internal communications with FAMOC and SA-24, an integrated mobile application
Sanofi Aventis, a multinational pharmaceutical company, wanted to implement a solution enabling the rapid distribution of information and text messages to predefined groups of employees. Additionally, company mobile services were underutilized, and employees were reporting that network and device configuration was too complicated. As a result Sanofi was looking for a way to boost the usage levels of mobile services used by employees (e.g. network connections, email, calendar and corporate address book synchronization).
BUSINESS CHALLENGE
- Support for multiple mobile platforms (on a diverse mobile infrastructure)
- Mass configuration of network connections and email, carried out over-the-air, with zero interaction required from the end user
- Device integration with collaborative software, e. g. Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes/Domino
- Easy access to shared resources (address book, contact database) with automatic data synchronization
- Rapid distribution of information and text messages, with the possibility to define bespoke content to different groups of mobile users
SOLUTION
Sanofi Aventis selected FAMOC mobile device management solution, enabling centrally managed configuration of telecommunications services (such as email, VoIP, SIP, WiFi), and customized personal settings on any number of mobile phones, in real time.
Additionally, to address a bespoke requirement from Sanofi Aventis, FancyFon developed a mobile application called SA-24, which fully integrated with the FAMOC platform, and was installed remotely onto each end-users’ device. The web-based SA-24 is a console that allows messages to be sent by the administrator, supervisor, manager, or another employee. The console creates groups of employees (regional, operational, support), defines users’ privileges (recipient of content, content editor, the central coordinator) and creates and distributes messages to pre-defined groups of recipients. SA-24 is installed onto each employee handset, to receive, store and also share company information with other colleagues. FAMOC and SA-24 was rolled out to 800 OS-diverse mobile devices within the Sanofi Aventis network.
BENEFITS
FAMOC has empowered the Sanofi Aventis IT team to take full control of the configuration of mobile services (such as email, calendar, and address book synchronization), and no longer requires interaction from the workforce, so that employees can now benefit from the mobile Internet and improve their productivity. Integrated with FAMOC, SA-24 radically improved Sanofi Aventis’ internal communications, enabling the convenient and rapid distribution of information, directly to end users’ handsets. Software installation, configuration and updates are now carried out centrally, and any errors or problems that occur on a device can be addressed remotely by an administrator using the FAMOC Remote Access console.
